My Envy Box - July 2015
The July Edition of My Envy Box came with a bevy of full sized products and was an absolute delight! In a lovely shade of purple, this month's box came with a lot of skincare products and I must say I have quite a home spa set now thanks to the wonderful lot of masks, scrubs, lotions and potions that I've got thanks to My Envy Box. Okay, kidding about the last one, there were no potions.
As each month passes by, the contents of the boxes keep getting more and more generous giving subscribers incredible value for money. In fact, in the past three months, the boxes came with products worth way more than what you pay (Rs 850 per box) and the quantities of the samples are good enough to last you a few months at least.
To start off with the masks, there were two in this month's box. The first is a large 50 gram tub of Ananda Spa's Aloe Gel and Rose Distillate Hydrating Mask. For those of you who don't know, Ananda Spa is situated in the Himalayas and is voted as one of the world's leading spa destinations. Needless to say, their products have got to be fantastic. This non sticky mask absorbs quickly and leaves skin feeling refreshed and effortlessly hydrated. I can say so as I just used it today! Remove with cotton pad soaked in rose toner/water once the product has sunk in completely.
Moving on to the second mask, there's the adorably packaged Weather Warrior sheet mask from the Canadian brand MaskerAide. I have read rave reviews about all their masks so am very excited to try out this one. Enriched with Aloe, Green Tea, Witch Hazel and Argan Oil, this mask helps soothe, calm and heal your skin allowing it to breathe a sigh of relief when you’ve spent the day baking on the beach or skiing down the slopes and your skin has taken a beating. The weather has been pretty kind to us in Pune lately and its cold and rainy, so I'm going to save this one for the next time I hit a beach and my skin needs to be rescued from the sun and UV damage.
Another handy addition to the box is H2O Plus Aqualibrium Dual-Action Eye Makeup Remover. This powerful, oil-free dual-action makeup remover promises to remove the most stubborn eye makeup and is perfect for me as I'm quite regular with my gel eyeliner. To add to it, they even gave us an eyeliner by Catrice in a lovely brownish bronze shade. The downside? This color is really light and since most of us Indians are pretty brown, this looks almost invisible on me. I think this would be good on girls with either very pale or very dark skin. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me.
Last but not the least is a sample of Roberto Cavalli Paradiso (I don't know why the paper cover was crumpled inside the box! Vigorous shaking during transit maybe?) Anyway, its inside what counts. Like I showed you in my Travel Bag post, I tend to save all my samples and stash them in my purse and wallet for times I travel so that I have a variety of fragrances to choose from while I'm on holiday! Am obviously doing the same with this one. From what I read on Fragrantica, Paradiso is described as a floral - woody fragrance of the Mediterranean and as a heavenly bouquet that opens with citrus notes of bergamot and mandarin, blending with the floral heart of jasmine. Most Cavalli fragrances are woody floral and quite feminine and sophisticated so I know what to expect from this.
Well what can I say? My Envy Box is just getting better and better each month and if you've not tried it yet, you're definitely missing out. Check out their site and give it a one month trial if you like. I can guarantee you that you won't be disappointed. A bunch of my friends have subscribed to it after taking my advice, and we're all loving it! Not only do we get to try fantastic prestige products from acclaimed brands, but the samples also prove very handy for when you're traveling. A total win win situation!
