LFW day 3 : Farah & Firdos

Farah & Firdos showcased a unique collection which was an ode to the weavers of Bhagalpur. For those of you who don't know, Bhagalpur is a city which is acclaimed around the world for its silk products and it is known in India as the "Silk City".  At day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week, the designer duo Farah and Firdos  presented their “Cocoon” collection that showed the beauty of Bhagalpur silk and the hard work its weavers put into it.

Each garment was essentially a sheath dress on top of which gossamer like fabric was draped in various ways, as you can see in the pictures below. I really liked the fact that the same fabric was wrapped around the models feet in place of shoes, and looked quite cute indeed. A particularly exquisite detail was the gorgeous oversized fascinator on every model's head. I'm pretty sure the race attending crowd will love these. Some colors used in the collection were white, blue, green, brick and red.
